The company sent its first Voodoo Graphics chip to manufacturing on November 6, 1995, and became known for 3D acceleration and its Glide API. Delays and stronger competition affected later Voodoo products. 3dfx acquired GigaPixel in March 2000. Nvidia acquired most of its assets on December 15, 2000, primarily for intellectual property, and 3dfx ended product support on February 15, 2001.
