accessair-car-coaster
AccessAir Car Coaster
GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Keep a small reminder of regional aviation history close on everyday drives with this AccessAir car coaster. From its Des Moines beginnings to routes planned across the country, the airline pursued an ambitious low-fare model built around point-to-point service and short stops. It flew from February 1999, entered bankruptcy later that year, restarted in November 2000, and shut down in February 2001. The circled-A identity and red-and-black Boeing 737-200 markings make this a fitting detail for airline-history enthusiasts.

AccessAir was a short-lived low-cost airline founded in 1998 and based in Des Moines, Iowa. After several delays, it began flying in February 1999, aiming to offer lower fares in markets including Des Moines, the Quad Cities, and Peoria. Its early route network linked Des Moines with New York's LaGuardia Airport through Quad Cities or Peoria stops; direct service to Los Angeles and a stop in Colorado Springs were added later. The airline also served or planned routes to cities including Chicago, San Francisco, Miami, Atlanta, Boston, Portland, and Seattle. AccessAir used point-to-point routes and through-flights, with brief intermediate stops. Despite discounted fares, passenger loads remained low. It filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November 1999, after nine months of operations, following about 14,000 enplanements and estimated losses of $30 million. In spring 2000, Des Moines business leader John Ruan III provided funds to take control and restart the airline. Flights resumed in November 2000, initially linking Des Moines and Chicago Midway, with additional destinations intended. Low passenger numbers persisted, and the airline shut down in February 2001. Its fleet included Boeing 737-200 jetliners.

2.6'' × 2.6"

Width, in

2.60

Height, in

2.60

Thickness, in

0.30

Product features

- Made from 100% soapstone — naturally absorbent

- Available in 1, 2, or 4-piece sets with the same print on each

- One-sided full-color print with a matte finish

- 2.6″ × 2.6″ size fits most vehicle drink holders; notch for easy removal

- Removable “Made in China” sticker on the bottom

Care instructions

- Gently wipe the dirt or dust off with a clean, dry microfiber cloth

EU representative: HONSON VENTURES LIMITED, gpsr@honsonventures.com, 3, Gnaftis House flat 102, Limassol, Mesa Geitonia, 4003, CY

Product information: Generic brand, 2 year warranty in EU and Northern Ireland as per Directive 1999/44/EC

Care instructions: Gently wipe the dirt or dust off with a clean, dry microfiber cloth
