accessair-car-magnet
AccessAir Car Magnet
GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Show your interest in a little-known chapter of airline history with this AccessAir car magnet. Founded in Des Moines in 1998, the carrier began flying the following February and sought to link regional markets through low fares and brief-stop through-flights. Its ambitious plans met persistently low passenger numbers, followed by bankruptcy, a 2000 restart, and shutdown in 2001. AccessAir’s unusual circled-A identity and red-and-black Boeing 737-200 markings give aviation collectors a recognizable story to share wherever the road leads.

AccessAir was a short-lived low-cost airline founded in 1998 and based in Des Moines, Iowa. After several delays, it began flying in February 1999, aiming to offer lower fares in markets including Des Moines, the Quad Cities, and Peoria. Its early route network linked Des Moines with New York's LaGuardia Airport through Quad Cities or Peoria stops; direct service to Los Angeles and a stop in Colorado Springs were added later. The airline also served or planned routes to cities including Chicago, San Francisco, Miami, Atlanta, Boston, Portland, and Seattle. AccessAir used point-to-point routes and through-flights, with brief intermediate stops. Despite discounted fares, passenger loads remained low. It filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November 1999, after nine months of operations, following about 14,000 enplanements and estimated losses of $30 million. In spring 2000, Des Moines business leader John Ruan III provided funds to take control and restart the airline. Flights resumed in November 2000, initially linking Des Moines and Chicago Midway, with additional destinations intended. Low passenger numbers persisted, and the airline shut down in February 2001. Its fleet included Boeing 737-200 jetliners.

7.5'' × 4.5''

Width, in

7.50

Height, in

4.50

Product features

- 100% vinyl face with matte finish for a muted, non-reflective look

- Black magnetic backing grips metal surfaces and removes cleanly

- All-weather durability—resists rain and sun exposure

- Available in three sizes to fit vehicles, toolboxes, or merch displays

- Printed with Digital-Direct Printing (DDP) for sharp, long-lasting color

Care instructions

- Wipe the dust off gently with a soft, dry cloth.

EU representative: HONSON VENTURES LIMITED, gpsr@honsonventures.com, 3, Gnaftis House flat 102, Limassol, Mesa Geitonia, 4003, CY

Product information: Generic brand, 2 year warranty in EU and Northern Ireland as per Directive 1999/44/EC

Care instructions: Wipe the dust off gently with a soft, dry cloth.
