acme-motor-car-company-can-cooler
Acme Motor Car Company Can Cooler
GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Keep the conversation rolling with Acme Motor Car Company history close at hand. Acme took its name in 1903 after the Reading firm had produced Reber cars, then grew into a maker of touring cars, runabouts, delivery vehicles, and other body styles. Its years of changing ownership and its 1911 transition to SGV make it a compelling name for collectors of overlooked marques. This can cooler adds a little early motoring character to a backyard gathering, car meet, or relaxed evening.

The Acme was an American automobile make built in Reading, Pennsylvania, from 1903 to 1911, succeeding the Reber, produced from 1902 to 1903. In June 1903 James C. Reber acquired a former bicycle factory at Eighth and Elm Streets and announced that Reber Manufacturing would change its name to the Acme Motor Car Company. Production began at four to six cars a week, and by 1905 the company was making two or three automobiles daily. The firm exhibited at the Chicago and New York automobile shows and joined the founding membership of the American Motor Car Manufacturers Association. After entering receivership in 1906, it was sold in 1907 to Herbert M. Sternbergh, who introduced the six-cylinder Sextuplet. Acme offered touring cars, runabouts, delivery vehicles, and other body styles, and later promoted racing and endurance events. In May 1911 its Reading site and plant were sold to J. H. Sternbergh, who sold the company to a New York consortium. The company name then changed to SGV. Acme also acquired parts from Lancia for SGV cars, including an engine and four-speed transmission.

Regular Can

Slim Can

Height, in

4.30

6.00

Diameter, in

3.50

3.50

Product features

- Durable 100% polyester exterior with edge-to-edge vibrant print

- Soft 100% foam liner for firm grip and insulation

- Lightweight and slim — fits regular and slim cans

- Outside white polyester with black foam interior for contrast

- Available sizes: Regular (3.5" x 4.3") and Slim (3.5" x 6'")

Care instructions

- Wipe with a damp cloth, air dry or use a soft, non-abrasive cloth

EU representative: HONSON VENTURES LIMITED, gpsr@honsonventures.com, 3, Gnaftis House flat 102, Limassol, Mesa Geitonia, 4003, CY

Product information: Generic brand, two year warranty in the EU and Northern Ireland

Care instructions: Wipe with a damp cloth, air dry or use a soft, non-abrasive cloth
