acme-motor-car-company-passport-cover
Acme Motor Car Company Passport Cover
GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Take an early American automobile story along on your next journey. Acme Motor Car Company made its cars in Reading, Pennsylvania, from 1903 to 1911, succeeding the Reber name and building touring cars, runabouts, and utility vehicles. The company later introduced the six-cylinder Sextuplet, promoted racing and endurance events, and ultimately became SGV. Its short, changing history gives this passport cover a thoughtful connection to the people and places behind early motoring. A fitting travel keepsake for marque collectors, road-trip fans, and students of automotive history.

The Acme was an American automobile make built in Reading, Pennsylvania, from 1903 to 1911, succeeding the Reber, produced from 1902 to 1903. In June 1903 James C. Reber acquired a former bicycle factory at Eighth and Elm Streets and announced that Reber Manufacturing would change its name to the Acme Motor Car Company. Production began at four to six cars a week, and by 1905 the company was making two or three automobiles daily. The firm exhibited at the Chicago and New York automobile shows and joined the founding membership of the American Motor Car Manufacturers Association. After entering receivership in 1906, it was sold in 1907 to Herbert M. Sternbergh, who introduced the six-cylinder Sextuplet. Acme offered touring cars, runabouts, delivery vehicles, and other body styles, and later promoted racing and endurance events. In May 1911 its Reading site and plant were sold to J. H. Sternbergh, who sold the company to a New York consortium. The company name then changed to SGV. Acme also acquired parts from Lancia for SGV cars, including an engine and four-speed transmission.

3.9" x 5.8"

Height, in

5.79

Width (Closed), in

3.94

Width (Open), in

8.03

Depth, in

0.39

Product features

- Two card slots plus pockets for boarding passes or IDs

- Cruelty-free black PU faux leather exterior

- RFID-blocking lining to protect against skimming

- One-size fits most passports (3.9″ × 5.8″)

- Vibrant front-cover print with potential edge fading on darker solids

Care instructions

- Wipe with a damp cloth, air dry or use a soft, non-abrasive cloth

EU representative: HONSON VENTURES LIMITED, gpsr@honsonventures.com, 3, Gnaftis House flat 102, Limassol, Mesa Geitonia, 4003, CY

Product information: Generic brand, two year warranty in the EU and Northern Ireland

Care instructions: Wipe with a damp cloth, air dry or use a soft, non-abrasive cloth
