In 2015, Macintosh sold the Brantano UK subsidiary to Alteri Investors, and in 2018 sold Brantano to FNG N.V. Brantano entered administration in March 2017, and its stores closed in June, with more than 900 jobs lost. FNG N.V. filed for bankruptcy on 30 July 2020. Following an unsuccessful attempt to relaunch brands including Brantano, it filed for bankruptcy again in February 2022 and subsequently liquidated its assets.
