After a 1996 sale, it operated as Pan Am Air Bridge; following bankruptcy, James Confalone purchased it in 1999 and relaunched it as Chalk's Ocean Airways. Security concerns moved its operations from Watson Island to Fort Lauderdale in 2001. Following the fatal Flight 101 crash in December 2005, the airline suspended service. It planned a return under the Chalk's International Airlines name in 2006, later using leased aircraft for limited routes.
