fallas-discount-stores-car-coaster
Fallas Discount Stores Car Coaster
GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Keep a small reminder of Fallas history close on everyday drives with this Fallas Discount Stores car coaster. In 1962, Joseph Fallas opened the first Fallas Paredes store in downtown Los Angeles, starting a family-owned retailer that would become familiar to shoppers in many communities. The brand's changing names and store eras remain part of discount department store history. This collectible is a simple way for former shoppers and retail memorabilia fans to celebrate those connections.

National Stores began in 1962 when Joseph Fallas opened a single downtown Los Angeles store called Fallas Paredes. The family-owned retailer later operated under names including Fallas, Fallas Discount Stores, Factory 2-U and Conway, selling clothing, shoes, lingerie and household goods. Fallas Paredes served the Hispanic American community. In 2001, National Stores acquired 31 Houston-area locations from Weiner's during that chain's liquidation. After Factory 2-U filed for bankruptcy protection in February 2004, National Stores arranged to acquire 172 stores; the chain liquidated later that year. National Stores acquired Conway in January 2014 and, in August 2015, took over leases for 41 Anna's Linens stores, with some locations adopting the Anna's Linens by Fallas name. The company moved its regional distribution operation from Otay Mesa to Perris, California, in 2016. It filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in August 2018 and expanded liquidation sales that October. Further Fallas Paredes closures began in early 2022. On August 31, 2022, National Stores closed its remaining locations in Puerto Rico and the contiguous United States.

2.6'' × 2.6"

Width, in

2.60

Height, in

2.60

Thickness, in

0.30

Product features

- Made from 100% soapstone — naturally absorbent

- Available in 1, 2, or 4-piece sets with the same print on each

- One-sided full-color print with a matte finish

- 2.6″ × 2.6″ size fits most vehicle drink holders; notch for easy removal

- Removable “Made in China” sticker on the bottom

Care instructions

- Gently wipe the dirt or dust off with a clean, dry microfiber cloth
