It emerged in January 1995 with 90 stores, but filed for bankruptcy again in October and decided to close its remaining locations. Liquidation sales ran from October to December 1995. Ames acquired 11 former Jamesway locations and reopened them under its own name; Ames later filed for bankruptcy and closed its
