Founded in Bloomington in 2007, Meatheads grew from a college-town favorite into a chain with locations around Chicago and in Champaign. The fast-casual brand stood out for cutting fries in front of customers, a detail that former guests and restaurant-history collectors can still recall. Its sale, bankruptcy filing, and the later conversion of remaining restaurants mark the close of a regional burger-chain chapter. A keepsake for fans of local food history.

Meatheads Burgers & Fries was an Illinois fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in hamburgers and related menu items. It began in Bloomington, Illinois, in 2007, attracting students from Illinois State University and other young customers. The chain entered the Chicago area in 2009 and went on to open 14 additional locations there. By October 2016, it had 17 operating restaurants, including one in Champaign near the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Meatheads emphasized a fast-casual identity rather than a traditional fast-food format and sought to distinguish its burger offerings by cutting fries in front of customers. The company remained entirely company-owned and did not adopt a franchise model; its reported annual sales in 2011 were approximately $5 million. In 2019, its partners sold the business to Crave Brands LLC. Meatheads and its parent filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on April 9, 2021. In September 2023, Epic Burger acquired the six remaining Meatheads locations and began converting them, starting with the Northbrook restaurant. By July 2024, only two locations remained, and those were later replaced.

2" x 2"

Width, in

2.00

Height, in

2.00

Depth, in

0.25

Product features

- 2" square porcelain tile with glossy finish

- Superior coating for bright, true-to-design color reproduction

- Vibrant, crisp printing using modern techniques

- Strong magnet mounted on the backside for secure hold

- Durable glossy surface that highlights fine details and contrasts

Care instructions

- Gently wipe the dirt or dust off with a clean, dry microfiber cloth

EU representative: HONSON VENTURES LIMITED, gpsr@honsonventures.com, 3, Gnaftis House flat 102, Limassol, Mesa Geitonia, 4003, CY

Product information: Generic brand, two year warranty in the EU and Northern Ireland

Care instructions: Gently wipe the dirt or dust off with a clean, dry microfiber cloth
