The company was chartered in Nashville in 1845 and built a route to Chattanooga across challenging terrain, including the remarkable Cowan Tunnel. Its Dixie Line identity and named passenger trains evoke the age when railways linked towns and regions. The company’s reach and corporate story changed over time, yet its original route remains part of a living rail network. A fitting travel keepsake for rail fans and history collectors.

The Nashville and Chattanooga Railroad was chartered in Nashville on December 11, 1845, and organized in 1848. Its first locomotive arrived in 1850, and the first train ran to Antioch the following spring. After nine years of construction across difficult terrain, the 150-mile line between Nashville and Chattanooga was completed; Cowan Tunnel was a notable engineering feature. The railway served Tennessee and extended into Kentucky, Alabama, and Georgia. During the Civil War, its tracks and bridges were repeatedly damaged and repaired. The company acquired several connecting railroads after the war and was reincorporated as the Nashville, Chattanooga and St. Louis Railway in 1873, although its tracks did not reach St. Louis. The Louisville and Nashville Railroad gained control in 1880, while the two companies continued to operate separately until their 1957 merger. The railway ended steam operations in 1953. Its successor corporate history continued through the Seaboard System, renamed CSX Transportation in 1986. CSX continues to use the original route between Nashville, Chattanooga, and Atlanta; other sections, including the route to Hickman, were abandoned.

3.9" x 5.8"

Height, in

5.79

Width (Closed), in

3.94

Width (Open), in

8.03

Depth, in

0.39

Product features

- Two card slots plus pockets for boarding passes or IDs

- Cruelty-free black PU faux leather exterior

- RFID-blocking lining to protect against skimming

- One-size fits most passports (3.9″ × 5.8″)

- Vibrant front-cover print with potential edge fading on darker solids

Care instructions

- Wipe with a damp cloth, air dry or use a soft, non-abrasive cloth

EU representative: HONSON VENTURES LIMITED, gpsr@honsonventures.com, 3, Gnaftis House flat 102, Limassol, Mesa Geitonia, 4003, CY

Product information: Generic brand, two year warranty in the EU and Northern Ireland

Care instructions: Wipe with a damp cloth, air dry or use a soft, non-abrasive cloth
