The Oregon-Washington Railroad and Navigation Company carried a regional story from Portland toward eastern Oregon, eastern Washington, and northern Idaho. Its earlier history includes the Columbia River route to Wallula, completed in 1882, and its later evolution into a Union Pacific subsidiary. This coffee mug makes a fitting everyday choice for railway enthusiasts, local history readers, and collectors who value the layered history of a regional carrier.

The Oregon Railroad and Navigation Company (OR&N) was a rail and steamboat carrier formed in 1896 by consolidating several smaller railroads. Its 1,143-mile network extended from Portland, Oregon, toward northeastern Oregon, northeastern Washington, and northern Idaho. Its central predecessor, the Oregon Railway and Navigation Company, traced roots to 1860, was incorporated in Portland in 1879, and developed rail and river routes, including a Columbia River line completed to Wallula by 1882. The company acquired the Oregon Steam Navigation Company in 1880, along with other transportation interests and vessels. Union Pacific purchased a majority stake in 1898. In 1910, the system became a Union Pacific subsidiary named the Oregon–Washington Railroad and Navigation Company; that year, the Walla Walla and Columbia River Railroad was consolidated into it, and the Idaho Northern was absorbed as a branch. The Mill Creek Railroad, purchased in 1903, was later sold and merged into the Washington and Columbia River Railway. In 1936, Union Pacific formally absorbed the system, which had become its gateway to the Pacific Northwest.

11oz

15oz

Height, in

3.74

4.61

Diameter, in

3.15

3.43

Product features

- Microwave-safe for quick reheats

- Dishwasher-safe for easy cleanup

- Available in 11oz and 15oz sizes

- Glossy white ceramic with vibrant, long-lasting print

- Lead- and BPA-free, comfortable C-handle

Care instructions

- Clean in dishwasher or wash by hand with warm water and dish soap

https://ghostcorpapparel.com/products/oregon-washington-railroad-and-navigation-company-ceramic-coffee-mug
