The Chico, California carrier operated from 1982 until its abrupt shutdown in 1984, serving western destinations with an all-jet fleet that included BAC One-Eleven aircraft and Boeing 737-200s. Its Pan Am marketing partnership promoted connections in Los Angeles and San Francisco. For aviation enthusiasts, this small tribute recalls a regional airline whose short life held plenty of change, ambition, and character.

Pacific Express was an all-jet airline based in Chico, California, operating in the western United States from 1982 until early 1984. It was a subsidiary of WestAir Jet Inc. The carrier began service with seven British Aircraft Corporation BAC One-Eleven twin jets and later added Boeing 737-200 aircraft. It served as many as 22 destinations across the western United States. A marketing agreement with Pan American World Airways led the airline to market itself as Pan Am Pacific Express, promoting connecting passenger traffic at Los Angeles and San Francisco. Pacific Express ordered six new British Aerospace BAe 146-200 aircraft but never took delivery; some of those aircraft were subsequently purchased by Pacific Southwest Airlines. Shortly after its second anniversary, the company filed for bankruptcy in federal court and abruptly ended operations on February 2, 1984. The Pacific Express name is now used as the callsign of Pacific Airlines, described as the second-largest airline in Vietnam. Its short operating history, changing marketing identity, jet fleet, and links to larger carriers make it a distinctive chapter in the history of U.S. regional air service.

2.6'' × 2.6"

Width, in

2.60

Height, in

2.60

Thickness, in

0.30

Product features

- Made from 100% soapstone — naturally absorbent

- Available in 1, 2, or 4-piece sets with the same print on each

- One-sided full-color print with a matte finish

- 2.6″ × 2.6″ size fits most vehicle drink holders; notch for easy removal

- Removable “Made in China” sticker on the bottom

Care instructions

- Gently wipe the dirt or dust off with a clean, dry microfiber cloth
