Phianna first made a car based on the SGV, then developed its own models. In 1918, wartime use of the factory for tools and dies for the Wright-Martin Aircraft Company led to the sale of Phianna's assets. Miles Harold Carpenter and Texas rancher Carl M. Worsham acquired them and established a new plant at the end of 59th Street in Long Island City, New York. Carpenter, an automotive designer with experience at Pierce Arrow and Chalmers, oversaw hand-built cars, including updated models shown in 1919. The marque offered four- and six-cylinder engines and introduced safety glass, turn signals, and stop lights in 1919. Facing the depression of 1921, Carpenter decided to end production.
