Spag's began in Shrewsbury in 1934 as Shrewsbury Battery and Tire Service, then grew into the famously distinctive discount store on Route 9. Its warehouse-style campus, handwritten prices, and unusual mix of goods made everyday shopping feel like an adventure. This pint glass celebrates the family business and the local memories that stayed with shoppers long after Spag's closed in 2004. A spirited choice for collectors and fans of regional stores.

Spag's began in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, in 1934, when Anthony “Spag” Borgatti opened Shrewsbury Battery and Tire Service. The business expanded in 1939 and became Spag's Hardware Supply. Incorporated as Spag's Supply, Inc. in 1966, it grew into a discount department store on Route 9, known for low prices, cash-based purchasing, and a distinctive warehouse-style campus. The store added a sports shop and an Olde School House, and sponsored local PBS broadcasts of The New Yankee Workshop and The Victory Garden. Its long-standing cash-only policy ended in 1992, the year it also began opening on Sundays; shopping bags followed in late 1996 and carts in 1998. After Borgatti's death in 1996, his daughters ran the business. A second store operated in Springfield from late 1999 through 2001. In 2002, the family sold the Shrewsbury store to Building 19, and the site became Spag's 19. Merchandise and operations shifted to the buyer's format, and October 3, 2004, was Spag's final day of business. The former store buildings were demolished beginning in 2016.

A sturdy 16oz pint glass that brings a little roadhouse spirit to everyday pours. The clear tempered glass showcases whatever you fill it with — amber beer, cold brew, or fresh juice — while a bold vintage-inspired script wraps the side for a subtle, nostalgic touch. It feels solid in the hand, resists everyday wear, and pairs easily with bar carts, kitchen counters, or a laid-back backyard table. Wash gently by hand to keep the lettering sharp and the glass crystal-clear. Built from tempered materials and assembled in the USA, this glass fits into evenings spent swapping stories, weekend morning routines, or those slow, quiet moments when a simple drink matters.

Product features

- 16 oz (0.473 L) capacity

- Tempered, durable glass construction

- BPA-free material

- Hand wash only to preserve finish

- Assembled in the USA from globally sourced parts

Care instructions

- Hand wash only

EU representative: HONSON VENTURES LIMITED, gpsr@honsonventures.com, 3, Gnaftis House flat 102, Limassol, Mesa Geitonia, 4003, CY

Product information: Generic brand, two year warranty in the EU and Northern Ireland

Care instructions: Hand wash only
