The chain became a public company on the American Stock Exchange in December 1986. In September 1996, it opened the 10,000-square-foot Uni-Mart Center in State College, promoted as \"America's Largest Convenience Store Under One Roof,\" with fuel, food, retail, mail, and banking tenants.
