Machinery from Crittenden \u0026amp; Tibbals Manufacturing Company in South Coventry, Connecticut, and C.D. Leet in Springfield, Massachusetts, was moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut. Production began under the name Union Metallic Cartridge \u0026amp; Cap Company; the operation was incorporated as Union Metallic Cartridge Company in September 1867.
