Charter Air Transport

Ghost Corp Apparel — resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Founded in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1997, Charter Air Transport, Inc. was a Part 135 air-taxi and commuter operator associated with Business Aircraft Group at Burke Lakefront Airport. Its business was the less-glamorous-but-necessary side of aviation: privately arranged charters and public-charter flying, with small regional aircraft doing the work while bigger airlines got the billboards.

The company also supplied the operating muscle for Streamline Air, a public-charter venture launched in 2011 between Hanscom Field near Boston and Trenton-Mercer Airport in New Jersey. The U.S. Department of Transportation’s charter records list Streamline as using Charter Air Transport and its 30-seat Embraer EMB 120 aircraft. Tiny turboprop, large ambition, very little room for a second carry-on.

After Amos and Irit Vizer acquired Charter Air Transport in 2013, the business moved toward the Via identity. In 2015, it changed its corporate name to Via Airlines, Inc., while retaining Charter Air Transport as a trade name for existing lines of business. DOT records document the name change on May 14, 2015, and subsequent charter filings identify Via Airlines doing business as Charter Air Transport.

Our Charter Air Transport collection celebrates Cleveland charter grit, the EMB 120 era, and a carrier that turned practical point-to-point flying into a brief, oddly stylish regional-airline afterburner.
