RegionsAir
Ghost Corp Apparel — resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
RegionsAir was the final name of a Smyrna, Tennessee regional airline whose operating lineage began on December 16, 1996 as Corporate Express Airlines. The commuter carrier became Corporate Airlines in 1998, flying small turboprops and doing the unglamorous but vital work of linking smaller cities to larger airline networks.
The airline operated as AmericanConnection for American Airlines, with flight operations centered at St. Louis and Nashville. It also carried federally subsidized Essential Air Service routes for communities across the Midwest and South. In other words: no champagne lounges, just serious regional flying and the determined hum of a Jetstream.
Corporate Airlines completed its change to RegionsAir, Inc. in February 2005. A U.S. Department of Transportation order that June identified RegionsAir as the carrier formerly known as Corporate Airlines and reselected it for Essential Air Service in seven communities, including Burlington, Iowa; Cape Girardeau and Kirksville, Missouri; and Owensboro, Kentucky.
In March 2007, FAA action over training-program issues halted the airline’s scheduled operations. Its routes were soon reassigned to other carriers, leaving RegionsAir’s blue-and-gold identity to join the great regional-airline departure board in the sky.
Our RegionsAir collection celebrates the little airline that made the map feel smaller—one turboprop, one outstation, and one very corporate call sign at a time.
