GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Wear a piece of local retail history with this Jenss Hoodie / Sweatshirt. The Jenss brothers founded the company in Lockport in 1887, and its department stores later served communities across Western New York. Shoppers remember locations at Boulevard Mall, Summit Park Mall, Eastern Hills Mall, and Main Street in Niagara Falls. The company closed all its department stores on September 15, 2000, while its later arrangement with Reeds Jewelers remained separate from its operations. A conversation-starting tribute to a regional name.
Jenss was a small department store chain serving Western New York. The Jenss brothers founded the company in 1887 in Lockport, New York, establishing a local retail business that later expanded to several regional shopping destinations. Harold Dautch bought the company in 1951. In 1962, Jenss opened its flagship department store at Boulevard Mall in Amherst, New York. Its other locations included Summit Park Mall, Eastern Hills Mall, and Main Street in Niagara Falls. The company also operated Jenss Twin Ton at Main and Niagara streets in downtown Tonawanda, in the former Zuckmaier Brothers department store. In 1997, Jenss decided to close its Summit Park Mall location. On September 15, 2000, the company closed all of its department stores. In 2002, Jenss chose to open stores exclusively with Reeds Jewelers while remaining a separate company. The arrangement was not a merger: Jenss and Reeds Jewelers retained separate and distinct operations. This history traces the brand from its 1887 Lockport founding through regional expansion, department store closures, and a later retail relationship.
