Give your phone a place to rest while celebrating Jet America Airlines, a Long Beach carrier with a memorable 1980s story. The airline began scheduled flights to Chicago O'Hare in 1981, expanded into several domestic markets, and operated MD-82 aircraft. It even experimented with a small Las Vegas hub before its 1987 merger into Alaska Airlines. This foldable mobile phone display stand makes a useful desk companion for aviation fans, frequent travelers, and collectors drawn to the history of independent U.S. airlines.

Jet America Airlines was a U.S. domestic carrier headquartered in Signal Hill, California, near Long Beach. Its founding group was led largely by former Air California executives. After receiving a Civil Aeronautics Board finding that it was fit to operate on June 18, 1981, the airline began service on November 16, flying from Long Beach Airport to Chicago O'Hare. By 1984 it served Dallas/Fort Worth, St. Louis, and Oakland and had introduced a frequent flyer program. Its fleet included McDonnell Douglas MD-82 aircraft; a short-lived Boeing 707 charter lease in 1984 ended in January 1985 after significant losses. New services to Detroit, Las Vegas, and Orange County followed in 1985. Jet America later operated a small Las Vegas hub and, as part of Alaska Air Group, flew routes linking western and eastern U.S. cities. Alaska completed its acquisition by the end of 1986, initially keeping the airlines separate. After reporting a $9 million Jet America loss for the first nine months of 1987, Alaska merged the carrier into Alaska Airlines in October 1987. Alaska then sold Jet America's Chicago O'Hare and Washington National slots to United Airlines.
