GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Jo-Ann’s story began at the Cleveland Fabric Shop in 1943 and continued under the Jo-Ann Fabrics name from 1963. Over time, acquisitions and corporate changes carried the retailer from its Ohio beginnings to the Joann identity, before its final stores closed in 2025. This sticky note pad brings that history to a useful everyday desk item for former shoppers, craft enthusiasts, and collectors of American retail brands. Keep the memory of a familiar fabric and craft destination close at hand as you plan, list, and remember.

Jo-Ann’s history began in 1943, when German immigrant families opened the Cleveland Fabric Shop in Cleveland, Ohio. Following expansion, the shop was renamed Jo-Ann Fabrics in 1963, combining the names Joan and Jacqueline Ann. In 1969, the business became a publicly held corporation called Fabri-Centers of America, Inc. It acquired the 342-store Cloth World chain in 1994 and House of Fabrics in 1998; that retailer had also operated as Fabricland, Fabric King, and So-Fro Fabrics. In September 1998, Fabri-Centers changed its corporate name to Jo-Ann Stores Inc., and its stores were renamed Jo-Ann Fabrics. The company went private after a 2010 buyout announcement and 2011 stock-market delisting, then returned to public trading in 2021. It rebranded as Joann in 2018. After Chapter 11 filings in 2024 and 2025, the chain began liquidating in February 2025; its last stores closed on May 30. Michaels later acquired Joann’s intellectual property and private labels, but not its stores.

Keep a stack by the phone for action items, stash a pad in your planner for weekly priorities, or place one on a conference table where everyone can jot a quick note. The adhesive holds through handling but releases cleanly when you move items around. For people who prefer minimal branding and maximum writing space, these pads help keep thoughts visible and tasks moving forward without shouting for attention.
