Share your appreciation for independent music history with a car magnet inspired by One Day Savior Recordings. The label began in 1997 when Christopher Tzompanakis set out to support bands beyond his own group, building a place in hardcore, metalcore, post-hardcore, emo, and indie rock. From its Long Island roots and 2002 festival to a later Philadelphia chapter, its journey remains a compelling slice of the era for longtime listeners and collectors.
One Day Savior Recordings was an American independent record label founded in 1997 by Christopher Tzompanakis, vocalist for Skycamefalling. After hearing complaints from friends' bands about local labels, he decided to start a label of his own, while keeping it separate from his band. Based first in Williston Park on Long Island, New York, One Day Savior became prominent in hardcore and indie rock circles, releasing metalcore, post-hardcore, and emo. Its artists included Boys Night Out, Hopesfall, The Juliana Theory, The Movielife, The Killing Tree, and Skycamefalling. The label was distributed by Lumberjack Mordam Music Group and sometimes co-released albums with other independent labels. Tzompanakis also organized One Day Savior Fest, held October 19, 2002, in Farmingdale, New York. The label entered a hiatus in 2008. On July 31, 2010, its website announced its sale to Tommy Melissen and a move to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The label operated under Melissen for about two years, then was officially put to rest in 2014 after two years of inactivity. It was also known as One Day Savior Record Company, One Day Savior Records, and OneDaySavior.
