GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Carry a small reminder of Ozark Air Lines, the Missouri carrier that began scheduled service in 1950 and built its identity around a St. Louis hub. Its story spans early DC-3 routes, the arrival of turboprops and DC-9 jets, and a 1986 transition into TWA. Collectors also remember the distinctive three-swallow tail emblem and Ozark Midwest feeder operation. This double-sided keychain charm suits aviation-history collections and everyday use for anyone drawn to the people and brands behind regional air travel.
Ozark Air Lines was incorporated in Missouri on September 1, 1943, but began scheduled airline service on September 26, 1950. Its launch followed the Civil Aeronautics Board’s revocation of Parks Air Lines’ route authority: Parks sold its airline operation to Ozark, which took over service from East St. Louis to Chicago via St. Louis. Early routes expanded from St. Louis to Chicago, Tulsa, and Memphis. St. Louis Lambert International Airport became Ozark’s main hub and headquarters. The airline grew from Douglas DC-3 service to turboprops and jets, introducing Douglas DC-9s in 1966 and adding MD-80s in 1984. A 1985 agreement with Air Midwest created the Ozark Midwest feeder operation. On March 1, 1986, Ozark and Trans World Airlines announced a purchase agreement; Ozark ceased to exist as an independent company on October 27, 1986, and its aircraft were repainted in TWA livery. TWA merged into American Airlines on December 1, 2001. A separate airline using the Ozark name began service in 2000 from Columbia, Missouri, and ceased operations the following year.
