Pacific Express Cuffed Beanie
Keep a little regional aviation history close with this Pacific Express Cuffed Beanie. Founded in Chico, California, Pacific Express launched in 1982 with seven BAC One-Eleven jets and expanded its western network before adopting the Pan Am Pacific Express name through a marketing agreement. The airline’s story ended abruptly in 1984, making its short-lived identity especially memorable to collectors. This piece suits aviation enthusiasts who appreciate the people, routes, and partnerships behind a distinctive airline chapter.
Pacific Express was an all-jet airline based in Chico, California, operating in the western United States from 1982 until early 1984. It was a subsidiary of WestAir Jet Inc. The carrier began service with seven British Aircraft Corporation BAC One-Eleven twin jets and later added Boeing 737-200 aircraft. It served as many as 22 destinations across the western United States. A marketing agreement with Pan American World Airways led the airline to market itself as Pan Am Pacific Express, promoting connecting passenger traffic at Los Angeles and San Francisco. Pacific Express ordered six new British Aerospace BAe 146-200 aircraft but never took delivery; some of those aircraft were subsequently purchased by Pacific Southwest Airlines. Shortly after its second anniversary, the company filed for bankruptcy in federal court and abruptly ended operations on February 2, 1984. The Pacific Express name is now used as the callsign of Pacific Airlines, described as the second-largest airline in Vietnam. Its short operating history, changing marketing identity, jet fleet, and links to larger carriers make it a distinctive chapter in the history of U.S. regional air service.

This cuffed beanie carries a lived-in street energy—soft, warm, and quietly bold. The low-profile embroidery sits on the cuff like a personal insignia: a small, slightly distressed logo with a touch of red that reads as both vintage and current. It slips on easily and stays put through commutes, late-night walks, and chilly market runs, adding a subtle graphic edge without shouting.
Wear it with a worn denim jacket, layered knit, or an oversized coat. It works for creatives who like to curate a look that’s casual but considered, for city cyclists who need dependable warmth, or for anyone who favors compact, tactile details. The hypoallergenic acrylic knit keeps things comfortable against the skin while the 12" cuff gives you styling flexibility—fold it high for warmth or roll it low for a slouchier silhouette. This is a small, everyday piece that quietly completes an outfit and ages into its own personality.
