GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Keep a small reminder of Riot Forge’s storytelling era close at home. Created by Riot Games in 2019, the label supported independent studios as they explored Runeterra through games with distinct genres and stories. From the debut releases Hextech Mayhem and Ruined King to later titles connected with Arcane, its catalog widened the world beyond the competitive main game. This square porcelain fridge magnet makes a thoughtful keepsake for collectors who followed the label’s short history through its closure in January 2024.
Riot Forge was an American video game publishing label created by Riot Games in 2019 to fund independent studios making spin-off games in the fictional Runeterra universe. The label grew from a storytelling challenge: the main League of Legends game was not considered an effective way to develop its lore, which had largely appeared in website blurbs. Riot Forge gave partner studios room to choose genres, while requiring games to remain within standard Runeterra rather than alternate settings depicted by themed player skins. Its first releases, Hextech Mayhem and Ruined King, arrived in 2021. Later titles included Convergence, connected to the Netflix series Arcane; The Mageseeker, accompanied by a four-issue prologue comic; Song of Nunu; and Bandle Tale. The games explored varied formats, from rhythm and turn-based role-playing to platforming and life simulation. Riot Forge closed in January 2024 amid video game industry layoffs following a post-pandemic decline in demand. Riot Games cited rising development costs as unsustainable; the company also laid off 530 employees, or 11% of its workforce. The label’s closure ended this publishing program, whose games had generally received positive critical reviews.
