GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Celebrate a distinctive chapter of western aviation history with this WestAir Commuter Airlines ceramic ornament. The design remembers a California carrier that began as Stol Air Commuter, became WestAir Airlines in 1978, and adopted the WestAir Commuter Airlines name in 1986. Its story includes early United Express service, fleet growth into regional jets, and a final transition from WestAir to SkyWest on United’s western network. A meaningful keepsake for airline memorabilia collectors and aviation enthusiasts who enjoy preserving the stories behind regional carriers.

WestAir Commuter Airlines was a U.S. regional carrier whose roots lay in Stol Air Commuter, based in San Rafael, California, with administrative offices in Santa Rosa. Stol Air Commuter changed its name to WestAir Airlines in 1978, and the company adopted the WestAir Commuter Airlines name in 1986. After the 1978 transition, WestAir Group acquired Redding-based Golden Eagle Airlines. WestAir became one of the first two regional carriers operating as United Express under a code-sharing agreement with United Airlines on May 1, 1985. Headquartered in Fresno and controlled by WestAir Holding, the airline expanded its fleet from small commuter aircraft to turboprops and, from 1988, BAe 146-200 regional jets. North Pacific Airlines, another WestAir Holding carrier operating as United Express, merged into WestAir in 1991. Mesa Air Group acquired WestAir in May 1992. United later ended its United Express contract with WestAir, and on April 23, 1998, SkyWest Airlines replaced it as United's west coast regional United Express carrier. WestAir's Brasilias passed to Utah-based SkyWest, while many of its Jetstream 31s were stored in Kingman, Arizona.
