Remember a brief but memorable chapter of American aviation with this Western Pacific Airlines Cuffed Beanie. Known to many travelers as WestPac, the carrier began flights in 1995 with Colorado Springs as its original hub, then moved operations to Denver International Airport in 1997. Its colorful promotional aircraft and rapid expansion made it a distinctive presence in the skies. This piece offers airline enthusiasts and collectors a wearable nod to a company that disappeared from the schedule in 1998 but remains part of aviation lore.

Western Pacific Airlines, also known as WestPac, was a U.S. low-cost carrier that operated from 1995 to 1998. Formed in 1994 as Commercial Air, it later adopted the Western Pacific name and began scheduled passenger flights on April 28, 1995, with eight Boeing 737-300 aircraft. Its headquarters were in unincorporated El Paso County, near Colorado Springs, and Colorado Springs Airport was its original hub. The airline initially focused on routes west of the Mississippi River, then expanded east and along the West Coast. It also leased two Boeing 727-200 jets for service to Washington Dulles and operated Mountain Air Express, a commuter affiliate that fed passengers to its hubs with Dornier 328 turboprops. In 1997, Western Pacific moved its hub to Denver International Airport and announced plans to acquire the newer Denver-based Frontier Airlines, but the proposed merger was canceled during financial review. Western Pacific filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy and ceased operations in February 1998. Its fleet included Boeing 737-300s; planned Boeing 737-700 deliveries did not take place. Its distinctive logojet promotions included aircraft themed around destinations, resorts, businesses, and a television show.

This cuffed beanie carries a lived-in street energy—soft, warm, and quietly bold. The low-profile embroidery sits on the cuff like a personal insignia: a small, slightly distressed logo with a touch of red that reads as both vintage and current. It slips on easily and stays put through commutes, late-night walks, and chilly market runs, adding a subtle graphic edge without shouting.

Wear it with a worn denim jacket, layered knit, or an oversized coat. It works for creatives who like to curate a look that’s casual but considered, for city cyclists who need dependable warmth, or for anyone who favors compact, tactile details. The hypoallergenic acrylic knit keeps things comfortable against the skin while the 12" cuff gives you styling flexibility—fold it high for warmth or roll it low for a slouchier silhouette. This is a small, everyday piece that quietly completes an outfit and ages into its own personality.
