GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Bring WestPac’s memorable airline story into your everyday rotation with this Hoodie / Sweatshirt. Western Pacific Airlines began scheduled flights in 1995, rooted in Colorado Springs, and later transferred its hub to Denver International Airport. Its fleet and attention-grabbing promotional aircraft made it a recognizable presence during a brief period of expansion, while the planned Frontier acquisition and canceled merger added corporate intrigue. The airline ceased operations in 1998, but its unusual trajectory remains a favorite subject for aviation enthusiasts and 1990s airline collectors.
Western Pacific Airlines, also known as WestPac, was a U.S. low-cost carrier that operated from 1995 to 1998. Formed in 1994 as Commercial Air, it later adopted the Western Pacific name and began scheduled passenger flights on April 28, 1995, with eight Boeing 737-300 aircraft. Its headquarters were in unincorporated El Paso County, near Colorado Springs, and Colorado Springs Airport was its original hub. The airline initially focused on routes west of the Mississippi River, then expanded east and along the West Coast. It also leased two Boeing 727-200 jets for service to Washington Dulles and operated Mountain Air Express, a commuter affiliate that fed passengers to its hubs with Dornier 328 turboprops. In 1997, Western Pacific moved its hub to Denver International Airport and announced plans to acquire the newer Denver-based Frontier Airlines, but the proposed merger was canceled during financial review. Western Pacific filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy and ceased operations in February 1998. Its fleet included Boeing 737-300s; planned Boeing 737-700 deliveries did not take place. Its distinctive logojet promotions included aircraft themed around destinations, resorts, businesses, and a television show.
