Keep cards close alongside a conversation-starting tribute to World Airways. Founded in 1948, the carrier began with former Pan Am flying boats and developed through charter flights, government contracts, and decades of military, cargo, and passenger operations. From its Oakland headquarters years to its wide-body jet service, World connected a distinctive chapter of aviation history. This Metal Business Card Holder suits aviation professionals, airline memorabilia collectors, and anyone who values the story of a company that served through changing eras of flight.

World Airways was founded on March 29, 1948, by Benjamin Pepper, a former Pan American World Airways flying boat pilot. It began with three former Pan Am Boeing 314 flying boats and was later sold to Beroviche Steamship Company. Edward Daly bought the airline in 1950 and added Douglas DC-4s; a government contract followed in 1951. Initially a charter and supplemental carrier, World was barred from scheduled service under federal regulation. After deregulation, it began scheduled flights in 1979, using aircraft including Boeing 727s and McDonnell Douglas DC-10s. During the Vietnam War it flew troops and equipment from Oakland, California, and operated the final airlift flight out of Đà Nẵng on March 29, 1975. The airline later operated military, charter, cargo, and wet-lease services. Its headquarters moved from Teterboro, New Jersey, to Oakland in 1956, then to the Washington area in 1987 and Peachtree City, Georgia, in 2001. World became part of World Air Holdings in 2006 and was later acquired by ATA Holdings, renamed Global Aero Logistics. It ceased operations on March 27, 2014. In 2017, 777 Partners acquired its intellectual property and announced plans to relaunch the brand.
