Afghan Jet International Airlines
Ghost Corp Apparel — resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Afghan Jet International Airlines was a privately owned Afghan domestic and regional carrier founded in 2013. It began scheduled operations on April 12, 2014, flying under IATA code HN, ICAO code AJA, and the callsign AFGHAN JET. Its documented Kabul address was at Al Bostan Plaza, Ansar Square.
The airline’s principal Afghan identity was rooted in Kabul, with Hamid Karzai International Airport serving as its main hub. From there, Afghan Jet operated domestic service to places including Herat, Kandahar, Lashkar Gah, Chaghcharan, and Tarinkot—an ambitious little route map for a young carrier working Afghanistan’s long distances.
CAPA described the business as backed by an Afghan parent company and Dubai-based Global Jet, with an operational base in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Sharjah was an operations location rather than the airline’s documented corporate headquarters, so Kabul remains the proper hometown for this aviation apparition.
The flight plan did not last long: Afghan Jet International Airlines ceased operations on June 15, 2016. A 2017 European Union aviation-safety-list regulation still identified the legal carrier as Afghan Jet International Airlines, AOC 008, with ICAO designation AJA—an official paper trail for a fleet that had already gone quiet.
Our Afghan Jet International Airlines collection celebrates Kabul’s short-lived regional flyer: compact, determined, and gone before the airport-lounge coffee had time to cool. Wear the ghost of HN/AJA for the tiny airline that aimed skyward, then became excellent vintage runway material.
