Ghost Corp Apparel — resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

IFL Group, Inc. traces its origin to 1983, when Alan Ross and Mike Church launched the Independent Flight Leasing Group around Oakland Airport in Pontiac, Michigan. The founding mix was wonderfully un-corporate: a precious-metal refiner, a mechanic, and a Cessna. From that small-airplane beginning came a durable air-transport business built for cargo that could not wait around at baggage claim.

The company became closely identified with Waterford Township, Michigan, near Oakland County International Airport. IFL developed on-demand cargo and charter work, adding a varied fleet that has included Dassault Falcon 20s, Convair 580s and 5800s, Boeing 727s, CRJ200 converted freighters, and ATR 72 freighters. It has also handled contract flying for major logistics customers, plus specialized missions such as organ transportation. Because apparently “overnight delivery” was not dramatic enough.

IFL Group remains an operating company rather than a defunct one. Its current operating structure distinguishes Falcon operations by IFL Group, Inc. under Part 135 from Convair and Boeing 727 operations conducted by Gulf & Caribbean Cargo, Inc. doing business as IFL Group under Part 121. The name has endured through refreshed branding, but the purple-runway urgency remains.
