Jet 24 International Airways

Ghost Corp Apparel — resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Jet 24’s corporate name was Jet Charter Service, Inc.; its airborne alter ego was JET24 International Airways. Formed in Miami in 1979, the Florida carrier began operations in December 1981 as a cargo specialist, initially flying Boeing 707 freighters between Miami and Caracas. That is a respectable way to start an airline: with jet fuel, paperwork, and absolutely no patience for carrying tiny pretzels.

By 1983, Jet 24 had authority for passenger charters and added larger McDonnell Douglas DC-10 equipment for work to South America and Europe. Federal aviation records from 1985 identify the company as Jet Charter Service, Inc. doing business as JET24 International Airways, with Gabriel D’La Rotta listed as president and a Miami address.

In 1985, the airline pursued scheduled passenger service from Miami, including San Juan, Puerto Rico, and international authority involving Madrid, Spain, and Zürich, Switzerland. The scheduled experiment was short-lived: Jet 24 ceased operations in October 1985. Its story remains peak deregulation-era aviation—an ambitious Miami charter outfit that reached for transatlantic timetables and found the runway ended sooner than planned.

Our Jet 24 International Airways collection celebrates the blue-and-red, wide-body swagger of a Miami airline that turned a charter-service name into an international billboard. Wear it for the 707 freighters, the DC-10 dreams, and the beautifully excessive confidence of taking on Europe with a fleet and a logo.
