Ghost Corp Apparel — resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Khalifa Airways was the Algiers, Algeria-based passenger-and-cargo carrier created within Rafik Khalifa’s Groupe Khalifa. Founded in June 1999, it received government authorization and began flying that August under IATA code K6, ICAO KZW, and the call sign KHALIFA AIR.

From Houari Boumediene Airport, the private airline built domestic Algerian service alongside routes in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. It merged Antinea Airlines in 2001 and Ecoair in 2002—an ambitious consolidation plan with a runway measured in years, not decades.

By mid-March 2003, Khalifa Airways had stopped flying after failing to meet lease payments. A French court placed the company in liquidation on July 10, 2003; the Algerian court in Chéraga followed with liquidation on May 24, 2004. The World Bank later noted that its disappearance helped drive a 37 percent decline in Algeria’s domestic airline passengers during 2003.
