The Interpublic Group of Companies

Ghost Corp Apparel — resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

The Interpublic Group of Companies began in New York in 1930 as McCann-Erickson Incorporated, successor to the advertising businesses founded by A. W. Erickson in 1902 and Harrison K. McCann in 1911. It was a Madison Avenue-scale marriage before Madison Avenue became shorthand for selling America to itself.

In January 1961, McCann-Erickson adopted the Interpublic name and pioneered the marketing-services holding-company model. From New York headquarters, IPG assembled a far-flung roster of advertising, media, public-relations, digital, healthcare, and specialty communications businesses. The corporate parent became the quiet logo behind an extremely loud amount of client work.

Over the decades, its portfolio included major agency networks such as McCann Worldgroup, FCB, MullenLowe Group, and IPG Mediabrands. In 2000, IPG acquired Deutsch Inc., then one of the largest independent advertising agencies, adding another recognizable name to the increasingly crowded agency-family photo.

On November 26, 2025, Omnicom completed its acquisition of Interpublic. IPG continued as a wholly owned Omnicom subsidiary, while its public shares ceased trading and the combined company operated under the Omnicom name. Even the world's professional persuaders eventually get a new parent company.

Our The Interpublic Group of Companies collection celebrates the polished, deal-making, pitch-deck energy of a New York communications powerhouse—the corporate ghost that helped turn creativity, media, and client services into a global holding-company business.
