2Wire, Inc. was a San Jose, California computer hardware manufacturer active from 1998 to 2010. Founded in 1998 by Brian Hinman, Pasquale Romano, Brad Kayton, Timothy Peers, and Tom Spalding, it focused on equipment and platforms for telecommunications providers. Its first HomePortal residential gateway arrived in January 2000, combining a DSL modem and router with home networking, firewall protection, and remote management.
