GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Celebrate the company that helped turn Ethernet from an emerging idea into a foundation for connected workplaces. Founded in 1979, 3Com grew from Ethernet adapter cards into a broad networking business, later adding communications equipment through its Bridge Communications merger and modem products through USRobotics. This bottle opener listing brings that layered technology story to a home bar, collection shelf, or gathering of longtime computing fans. It is a conversation piece for anyone who remembers the growth of local networks.

3Com Corporation was an American digital electronics manufacturer founded in 1979 by Robert Metcalfe, Howard Charney, and others. Its name referred to Computer Communication Compatibility, and its work centered on Ethernet, a technology Metcalfe had co-invented. After developing early Ethernet at Xerox PARC with David Boggs, Metcalfe left Xerox and formed the company. 3Com began with Ethernet adapter cards and expanded into local-area-network software, servers, switches, routers, wireless products, and voice and security systems. It became public in 1984 and merged with Bridge Communications in 1987, adding communications servers and network equipment. A 1997 merger with USRobotics brought modem products and Palm into the company; Palm and USRobotics later became independent again. In 2003, 3Com formed H3C with Huawei and moved its headquarters from Santa Clara, California, to Marlborough, Massachusetts. It acquired full ownership of H3C in 2007. Hewlett-Packard completed its acquisition of 3Com on April 12, 2010. After HP's 2015 separation, the business continued with Hewlett Packard Enterprise and was integrated into its Aruba Networks unit.
