Product Details & Size Guide

GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Adaptec became familiar to generations of computer users through host bus adapters and storage technology that evolved from Parallel SCSI to RAID, PCIe, and SAS. Founded in 1981, the company’s history tracks the changing connections between computers and the data they manage. This mouse pad brings that legacy into a contemporary desk setup, making it a natural choice for PC enthusiasts, technology professionals, and collectors who appreciate the people and companies that helped build computing infrastructure.

Adaptec, Inc. was founded in 1981 by Larry Boucher, Wayne Higashi, and Bernard Nieman as an American computer storage company. It initially focused on devices using Parallel SCSI interfaces and became known for host bus adapters, including its ISA and PCI families, as well as its cross-platform ASPI software interface. As technology advanced, its products added RAID functions and adopted PCIe and SAS interfaces. During the 1990s, Adaptec expanded through acquisitions: Trantor Systems Ltd. of Fremont, California, in 1993; Future Domain Corporation of Irvine, California, in 1995; and Distributed Processing Technology in 1999. On June 8, 2010, PMC-Sierra completed its acquisition of Adaptec’s channel storage business, including the RAID product line and Adaptec brand, and renamed it Adaptec by PMC. Adaptec, Inc. retained other assets and later changed its name to ADPT Corporation, then Steel Excel, Inc. PMC-Sierra was acquired by Microsemi in 2016, and Microsemi was later acquired by Microchip Technology. The Adaptec name continues as a brand for computer storage products.
