Adesto went public in 2015 under the symbol IOTS. In 2018, it acquired S3 Semiconductors, a provider of analog and mixed-signal ASICs and IP cores, and Echelon Corporation, which worked in home and industrial automation. These acquisitions broadened its offerings beyond memory products. Adesto also began a research cooperation with the University of California San Diego in 2018 to explore computing directly in memory. Dialog Semiconductor acquired Adesto in 2020 for $500 million, ending its run as an independent corporation.
