Product Details & Size Guide

GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Bring a distinctive chapter of Detroit motoring history into your everyday routine with this Aerocar-inspired cuffed beanie. Founded in late 1905, Aerocar began production the following February with a high-end touring car and an air-cooled engine that gave the company its name. Its brief run reflects the bold experiments of the Brass Era, when young automakers tried different engineering ideas and price points. A thoughtful pick for classic-car enthusiasts and admirers of early American industry.

Founded in late 1905 in Detroit, Michigan, Aerocar Motor Company was financed by entrepreneur and coal merchant Alexander Malcomson, an early financial backer of Ford Motor Company. Malcomson favored profitable, higher-priced cars, while Henry Ford pursued the lower-priced market. Aerocar took its name from its air-cooled engine and built a factory at Mack Avenue and Beaufait Street. Production began in February 1906 with the Model A, a high-end five-seat touring car powered by a four-cylinder Reeves engine. The company later offered Model D and roadster cars, as well as larger water-cooled touring models; near the end, it introduced a Model F with a Rutenber engine. High fixed costs and weak demand led Aerocar to file for bankruptcy in August 1907, and liquidation sales followed that autumn. Approximately 300 cars were built, and the remaining vehicles were sold in 1908. The former factory was leased to Hudson Motor Car Company in April 1909. Hudson expanded production there before moving to a larger facility, and the original building was reported to remain in reasonable condition in 2012.

This cuffed beanie carries a lived-in street energy—soft, warm, and quietly bold. The low-profile embroidery sits on the cuff like a personal insignia: a small, slightly distressed logo with a touch of red that reads as both vintage and current. It slips on easily and stays put through commutes, late-night walks, and chilly market runs, adding a subtle graphic edge without shouting.

Wear it with a worn denim jacket, layered knit, or an oversized coat. It works for creatives who like to curate a look that’s casual but considered, for city cyclists who need dependable warmth, or for anyone who favors compact, tactile details. The hypoallergenic acrylic knit keeps things comfortable against the skin while the 12" cuff gives you styling flexibility—fold it high for warmth or roll it low for a slouchier silhouette. This is a small, everyday piece that quietly completes an outfit and ages into its own personality.
