Bring a piece of Detroit’s Brass Era story to the course with this Aerocar Motor Company golf towel. Founded in late 1905, Aerocar began building cars in February 1906 at Mack Avenue and Beaufait Street, first offering a high-end touring car with an air-cooled engine. Its brief run captured a moment when young automakers explored competing ideas about engineering and price. A distinctive choice for golfers who appreciate early automotive history, this design honors a marque whose factory later became part of Hudson’s story.

Founded in late 1905 in Detroit, Michigan, Aerocar Motor Company was financed by entrepreneur and coal merchant Alexander Malcomson, an early financial backer of Ford Motor Company. Malcomson favored profitable, higher-priced cars, while Henry Ford pursued the lower-priced market. Aerocar took its name from its air-cooled engine and built a factory at Mack Avenue and Beaufait Street. Production began in February 1906 with the Model A, a high-end five-seat touring car powered by a four-cylinder Reeves engine. The company later offered Model D and roadster cars, as well as larger water-cooled touring models; near the end, it introduced a Model F with a Rutenber engine. High fixed costs and weak demand led Aerocar to file for bankruptcy in August 1907, and liquidation sales followed that autumn. Approximately 300 cars were built, and the remaining vehicles were sold in 1908. The former factory was leased to Hudson Motor Car Company in April 1909. Hudson expanded production there before moving to a larger facility, and the original building was reported to remain in reasonable condition in 2012.

Light, quick-drying, and built to travel with you on the course. This compact golf towel slips onto your bag with a solid gold grommet and ring, so it’s always within reach between swings. The dense microfiber weave soaks up moisture and cleans clubfaces without scratching. Its subtle printed logo sits low on the cloth for an understated look that won’t distract from your setup. Carry it clipped to your bag, loop it on your cart, or toss it in your travel kit—this towel is quietly reliable when the round gets long or the weather changes.
