Remember a chapter of Angola’s airline history with this Air 26 ceramic ornament. Founded in 2006, the Luanda-based company operated domestic passenger and cargo flights from Quatro de Fevereiro Airport. Its documented story includes a licence revoked in 2010 and re-issued on 31 January 2011, followed by reported difficulty fully restarting by the end of that year. A considered keepsake for aviation-history readers and collectors, this ornament celebrates Air 26 as a historical subject without implying ongoing operations or a successor company.
Air26 - Linhas Aéreas, S.A., also known as Air 26, was an airline based in Luanda, Angola. Founded in 2006, it operated domestic passenger and cargo flights from Quatro de Fevereiro Airport in the capital. Its history includes a significant change in licensing: the company’s licence was revoked in 2010 and re-issued on 31 January 2011. The account reports that Air 26 was unable to fully restart by the end of 2011. It also states that Air 26, like other Angolan airlines except TAAG, was banned from operating within the European Union. The fleet information identifies aircraft associated with the airline as of August 2019, and notes that its former fleet included one further Embraer EMB 120. These details place Air 26 in the history of Angola’s domestic passenger and cargo aviation, while documenting changes to its licence, its reported restart difficulty, and the aircraft reference preserved in the article. The available account does not describe later operations or a successor company.
