Keep a piece of Angolan aviation history close with this Air 26 tough phone case. Founded in 2006 and based in Luanda, Air 26 operated domestic passenger and cargo flights from Quatro de Fevereiro Airport. Its record also documents a licence revocation in 2010, re-issuance on 31 January 2011, and difficulty fully restarting by the end of that year. For airline-history readers, it offers a compact reminder of a company whose story belongs to the past, not a claim of ongoing operations.
Air26 - Linhas Aéreas, S.A., also known as Air 26, was an airline based in Luanda, Angola. Founded in 2006, it operated domestic passenger and cargo flights from Quatro de Fevereiro Airport in the capital. Its history includes a significant change in licensing: the company’s licence was revoked in 2010 and re-issued on 31 January 2011. The account reports that Air 26 was unable to fully restart by the end of 2011. It also states that Air 26, like other Angolan airlines except TAAG, was banned from operating within the European Union. The fleet information identifies aircraft associated with the airline as of August 2019, and notes that its former fleet included one further Embraer EMB 120. These details place Air 26 in the history of Angola’s domestic passenger and cargo aviation, while documenting changes to its licence, its reported restart difficulty, and the aircraft reference preserved in the article. The available account does not describe later operations or a successor company.
