Mark your travels with a tribute to Air Antilles, the regional carrier whose story began as Air Antilles Express on December 18, 2002. Based in Pointe-à-Pitre, the airline connected communities across the French Antilles and built a distinctive place in Caribbean aviation history. Its 2016 name and livery change, followed by a return to service in 2024, make this luggage tag a fitting keepsake for travelers and collectors who remember the routes and changing identity of the carrier.
Air Antilles is a French regional airline based at Pointe-à-Pitre International Airport in Guadeloupe, serving the French Antilles with scheduled and seasonal flights. It began operations on December 18, 2002, as Air Antilles Express, a brand for the Caribbean operations of Air Guyane Express. Air Guyane Express was owned by the Guadeloupean group CAIRE and had previously been a subsidiary of that group. The two airlines shared a call sign and IATA and ICAO codes. In 2016, Air Antilles adopted its current name and introduced a new livery with delivery of its first ATR 72-600. In September 2023, CAIRE was terminated; Air Antilles was set to be revived through a public-private partnership, while Air Guyane was to be liquidated. Air Antilles resumed operations on July 22, 2024, with reduced service and fleet size. On December 10, 2025, reports said the French civil aviation authority had suspended its air operator certificate on safety grounds after an audit. A six-month restructuring was reported in February 2026, following a February 2 decision led by the Commercial Court of Pointe-à-Pitre. On April 27, 2026, the airline ceased operations indefinitely after the court placed it into judicial liquidation.
