After suspending its Hong Kong route that autumn, the company focused on charter operations and announced plans for further routes. In 2021, it began cargo flying from Liège for CMA CGM and added plans for passenger service from Brussels to Mauritius. Following financial losses and route cuts, Air Belgium announced in September 2023 that scheduled passenger flights would end on 3 October, with aircraft used for other airlines under ACMI arrangements. Cargo and ACMI operations continued. On 30 April 2025, the Walloon Brabant commercial court declared Air Belgium bankrupt, while CMA CGM took over its cargo activities and 124 jobs. CMA CGM said the Air Belgium brand would remain separate.
