In 1980, Air Pacific merged with Gem State Airlines to form Golden Gate Airlines. Golden Gate Airlines merged with Swift Aire Lines in 1981, and service was discontinued shortly thereafter. This short corporate history links a California regional carrier to a sequence of company names and mergers, from its founding as Eureka Aero through its Air Pacific identity and successor airline.
