GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Keep a reminder of AirNow’s regional aviation story close at hand with this Metal Business Card Holder. Founded as Business Air in 1957, the Vermont airline served the Northeast and adopted the AirNow name in 1970. Its UPS contract helped connect its small-aircraft operation with a larger parcel network, while Buffalo and Albany became important airports for service. AirNow ended operations in 2011, making its brief but memorable history a point of interest for airline and delivery-network collectors.
Founded in 1957 as Business Air, the Vermont cargo airline operated scheduled and charter services across the Northeast. It was based at William H. Morse State Airport in Bennington. In 1970, Business Air adopted the AirNow name and signed a contract with United Parcel Service (UPS) to improve its mailing service. AirNow selected Buffalo Niagara International Airport and Albany International Airport as key airports to support business and customer service. The Great Recession brought declining activity at its home airport. On February 24, 2011, AirNow ceased operations after its UPS contracts were terminated, then lost income and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The company merged with UPS, which changed AirNow into UPS Express Critical. After the merger, the entire fleet was sold to American Airlines, UPS Airlines, and Airlink. As of April 2008, AirNow operated Embraer EMB-110P1 and EMB-110P2 Bandeirante aircraft and Cessna Caravan 675 aircraft. Its history links a small regional cargo carrier to a broader parcel-delivery network and a successor service.
