Product Details & Size Guide
Celebrate the enduring story of Anderson–Little with a cuffed beanie connected to a distinctive chapter in New England apparel. The company moved to Fall River in the 1930s, when the city was a major textile center, and built its identity around clothing made close to its customers. Its factory showrooms made that connection tangible. From a family-founded business to a brand reclaimed by descendants in 2008, Anderson–Little remains a compelling name for apparel history enthusiasts.
Anderson–Little was an American clothing maker and retailer, especially known for men’s suits. Founded in the Boston area in 1918 or during the 1920s by Morris B. Anderson and Albert Little, the company moved to Fall River, Massachusetts, in the 1930s, when the city was a textile-manufacturing center. It opened a Fall River store in 1936 and, after World War II, developed factory showrooms that brought customers directly to its manufacturing operation. Its long-running slogan, “The Best Factory Makes the Best Clothing,” reflected that approach. In 1956, its Fall River factory made 3,000 garments a week and employed more than 1,000 people. The business had 40 stores when Richman Brothers acquired it in 1966; Woolworth acquired Richman Brothers, including Anderson–Little, in 1969. In 1981, Anderson–Little introduced the Strathmore, Shefford, and Southport labels and added women’s business attire. Woolworth closed most stores in 1992, then sold the remaining business to Cliftex Manufacturing. Cliftex closed the final stores in 1998. Morris Anderson’s great-grandson Stuart and his son Scott reclaimed the brand in 2008 and launched a Miami-based, web-only clothing company. Stuart retired in 2014, leaving Scott to lead the revived business.

This cuffed beanie carries a lived-in street energy—soft, warm, and quietly bold. The low-profile embroidery sits on the cuff like a personal insignia: a small, slightly distressed logo with a touch of red that reads as both vintage and current. It slips on easily and stays put through commutes, late-night walks, and chilly market runs, adding a subtle graphic edge without shouting.
Wear it with a worn denim jacket, layered knit, or an oversized coat. It works for creatives who like to curate a look that’s casual but considered, for city cyclists who need dependable warmth, or for anyone who favors compact, tactile details. The hypoallergenic acrylic knit keeps things comfortable against the skin while the 12" cuff gives you styling flexibility—fold it high for warmth or roll it low for a slouchier silhouette. This is a small, everyday piece that quietly completes an outfit and ages into its own personality.
