Product Details & Size Guide
GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Keep Atlantic Coast Airlines history close with this Double-Sided Keychain Charm, a small keepsake for anyone interested in the evolution of regional flying. Founded in Virginia in 1989, ACA served major hubs including Dulles and Chicago O'Hare as a United Express operator, and later flew Delta Connection routes through Atlantic Coast Jet. Its next chapter became Independence Air in 2004. This charm offers collectors a compact reminder of the partnerships, locations, and turning points that shaped the carrier's story.
Atlantic Coast Airlines (ACA), owned by Atlantic Coast Holdings, began operations on December 15, 1989, and from its inception marketed flights for United Airlines. The regional carrier was based in Virginia, with headquarters first in Sterling, then Reston, and later the Dulles area of Loudoun County. It operated United Express service from Dulles and Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, using several regional aircraft types. In 1999, ACA established Atlantic Coast Jet to fly as a Delta Connection carrier; that operation was later reintegrated. Delta Connection flights served Boston, New York City, and Covington, Kentucky. After United entered bankruptcy protection in December 2002, contract negotiations and competition prompted ACA to prepare an alternative plan. On November 19, 2003, the airline announced it would leave its partner brands and become the low-cost carrier Independence Air. ACA's United Express status ended August 4, 2004, and its Delta Connection status ended November 2; Independence Air service had begun June 16, 2004. Independence Air ceased operations on January 5, 2006. On March 10, Northwest Airlines bought its DOT operating certificate, which was used to form Compass Airlines, beginning service in August 2007.
