Product Details & Size Guide
GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Keep business cards close with a nod to Atlantic Coast Airlines and its place in regional aviation history. The Virginia-based carrier began flying in 1989 and served United Express routes from Dulles and Chicago O'Hare. It later operated Delta Connection flights before preparing to become Independence Air, a transition that followed a period of changing airline partnerships. This metal business card holder suits aviation professionals, former employees, and collectors who appreciate the corporate story behind a familiar name in U.S. regional air travel.
Atlantic Coast Airlines (ACA), owned by Atlantic Coast Holdings, began operations on December 15, 1989, and from its inception marketed flights for United Airlines. The regional carrier was based in Virginia, with headquarters first in Sterling, then Reston, and later the Dulles area of Loudoun County. It operated United Express service from Dulles and Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, using several regional aircraft types. In 1999, ACA established Atlantic Coast Jet to fly as a Delta Connection carrier; that operation was later reintegrated. Delta Connection flights served Boston, New York City, and Covington, Kentucky. After United entered bankruptcy protection in December 2002, contract negotiations and competition prompted ACA to prepare an alternative plan. On November 19, 2003, the airline announced it would leave its partner brands and become the low-cost carrier Independence Air. ACA's United Express status ended August 4, 2004, and its Delta Connection status ended November 2; Independence Air service had begun June 16, 2004. Independence Air ceased operations on January 5, 2006. On March 10, Northwest Airlines bought its DOT operating certificate, which was used to form Compass Airlines, beginning service in August 2007.
